Use the Scotch-Brite™ 7447 general purpose sheet for a wide variety of materials and tasks. Our sheets combine flexibility with efficient cutting action and precise hand control for consistent fine finish results. They are especially useful for tough cleaning jobs. Scotch-Brite sheets are used in a similar manner to Grade 1 steel wool, but unlike Grade 1 steel wool, they will not fray during use, rust after use or create tiny metal chips. The non-woven open mesh material is soil-resistant and can be used dry, with water or solvents, and can be rinsed for reuse. Use our maroon sheets in a variety of ways. They fit comfortably in the hand for precise control, or can be used with a handheld block for an even finish, or on a sander to cover larger areas. Our sheets have fine-grit aluminum oxide abrasives that cut fast and fine, and leave a smooth finished surface. Aluminum oxide is used by industry professionals for its strength, cut rate and longevity. The durable abrasive fractures itself during use to create continuously fresh cutting edges: this sets it apart from traditional abrasives such as garnet, which wears quickly with use. Aluminum oxide is often used in roughing applications, in addition to sanding and finishing, because of its high cut rate, hardness, toughness and low heat retention. It is ideal for use on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasive products are unique surface conditioning products that blend abrasives into nonwoven nylon or other synthetic fibers to create a system that delivers consistent results over the life of the product. The open web material is anti-embossing and maintains the high cutting performance of abrasive minerals by limiting fiber plugging.
